Be In Control

No one is perfect, and being imperfect is what makes us humans. Everyday we are surrounded by this fake idea of perfection (no flaws, no problems, no worries), and without even realising, we associate perfection with happiness. We aim for a perfect family, a perfect job and a perfect life. However, reality frustrates us, and at some point we need to stop and accept we are full of flaws, and that is ok. I am not perfect, nobody is… and being imperfect is a condition we can not change. Life is a journey, and not being perfect allows us to feel empathy and compassion, not just for ourselves but also, for others.
In life we can choose happiness or perfectionism…but, I’m afraid we can not have both. Life is full of drawbacks, frustrations and imperfections. And there’s nothing wrong in it. Perfection is, of course, an impossible pursuit, and when we focus on being perfect, we are constantly telling ourselves that we're not good enough, not fast enough, not smart enough. It makes us spend a lot of time and energy thinking and worrying about failure. If we are not careful, it can lead us to a lifetime of frustration and self-doubt.
Each and every human being is work in progress, we learn from our mistakes, dust yourselves, and we try to do better next time. There is always a lesson to be learned in life, and the beauty of being imperfect is to find hope and encouragement when we fail. We shouldn’t let our imperfections discourage us. When we choose to put ourselves under pressure, creating impossible high standards, we create mental and emotional stress. In our lives, things always go wrong. None of us have perfect lives, we need to accept the fact that happiness comes from inside.
