Feeling Over Powered.....Entrapment
Feeling overwhelmed leads to thoughts of being overpowered and entrapped in
our emotions and situations. No matter what the circumstances that have led
to this conclusion, changing the conversation you have with your self can
help change your outcome from one of entrapment to one of empowerment. When
we find the wherewithal to think differently about ourselves and then our
situation, we can make positive progress to our goals. It is all up to you.
Traveling through the journey of the life is never easy because we encounter
people and situations that help us develop our individual identity,
character and thoughts. At times these tests can leave us emotionally,
mentally and spiritually drained, and unsure of our next moves. We also may
have played a role in delaying our next moves because we did not want to
look at people and situations as they truly are for fear of hurting another
or ourselves. You may even be feeling paralyzed from your indecision.
Even when we feel like we have nothing to contribute, too exhausted to try
any longer it is at this time we need to recognize we have to fill our head
with only positive and constructive thoughts. When we feel too tired and
overwhelmed to try something new - it is at this time we must get out of our
rut and apply our energy to new growth in our lives. It is through these
types of encounters that make us stronger in our individual spirit and
intellect. So remember who you are, what you have accomplished and where you
Some of you may feel overwhelmed because of responsibilities from such daily
time consuming tasks as taking care of an elderly parent. Maybe your
entrapment comes from a lover who has cut communication, leaving you with a
daily dose of doubt, hurt feelings and insecurities as well as your full
attention only on this one item.
Maybe past choices in love have been holding you back and possibly making
you feel further overwhelmed. Or if feelings of being wronged are in play,
we can fall prey to wanting to fulfill karmic urges if we are not careful.
All these what-ifs are only mental blocks to achieving what we really
desire. We just need to be honest enough with ourselves.
You need to listen to your heart and be open to the new possibilities God is
trying to help you realize.
What is so beautiful about these types of encounter with our deep feelings
it reveals to us our own secret link with God and the universe. In seeking
what is required of us by God, we can become healed through the strength
offered by this connection and we come to realize the power in our
individual character and spirit.
When challenged with negative thinking from feeling overwhelmed and
entrapped I must place myself as the driver of the Tarot card The Chariot -
because part of the Major Arcana lesson in this card is how to master the
pulling forces in our lives. The horses represent our animal instinct
fighting to take control over The Chariot. We need our spiritual and
material yearnings to step in harmony. Our grip does not need to be rough to
master control. Our hands gently grasp the reins conveying determination,
strength and purpose to lead them in a directed manner towards our goal.
Our Charioteer is ambitious and driven towards achievement. These
inclinations need not be executed in a rough manner either - humbleness,
control of our thoughts and delivery of our words are what the ancient Tarot
teaches us is the evolution of our initial meeting with The Chariot. He
wears a crown in some versions and we must strive to be worthy to wear his
regal head gear.
If you are worried that you cannot service the demanding forces in your life
- The Chariot says that just is not so! You can do anything if you apply
your mind on the positive and constructive to get you from A to B then to
rest of the alphabet - do not worry so much - enjoy today, take your time,
plan and play!
