Get Happy - Its Good For You!

We have been looking at happiness on our Facebook, Twitter and Blog this week , but its not just a great feeling its good for you.
Isn't it great when you feel happiness, everything is brighter and better and your energy soars, joy is the purest form of energy and brings angels and spirit to our side? But it also is so good for us on many levels.
Happiness makes us want to be with more people to be sociable, to seek more people to share our happiness with. All our walls and defences against people are reduced when we are happy; we are open and even happy to be vulnerable. We are also much more empathetic to people and happy to help, being happy makes us care more about others.
Sounds obvious happy people are just more positive, the same amount of good, bad and indifferent life events will happen to us all but happy people dwell on the good times so much more than those of us who are sad. However happy people do tend to have rose coloured spectacles, our memories are not as accurate, but in this case that could be a good thing. Happy people are not sceptics or cynics, faced with life's ups and downs we believe it won't be long until the issues are resolved and life will be back in a good place - we are just optimistic!
When we are happy we are so much more creative too, we have a real ability to plan strategically but when it comes to critical thinking we are not so good as to be critical goes against our positivity - we do not like looking for fault.
Happy people learn quicker and more effectively, we all know laughter makes kids pay attention and attention is the key to learning. But the happy hormones in your brain also make learning easier as it stimulates your brain more.
Happy people have better health habits. We have lower blood pressure; our immune system works better, science has proved that positive emotions mean longer life expectancy and a great pain tolerance. Happiness helps us to fight addictions or not become addicted to anything at all as we don't need a sedative or prop to help with our emotions.
A few easy ways to get happier are -
Don’t deny or hide your emotions let them out , once you do you can return to being truly happy a whole lot quicker
Live in the now as much as possible, try not to live in the past or dwell on the future
Laugh a lot and find more things to laugh at
Find happy people to spend time with - its catching you know
Have your values, boundaries and limitations in place and do not let others cross them
Meditate and be still at some point everyday
So lets get happy and feel all round great
Love & light
