Gratitude

Gratitude is closely related to happiness, and being grateful goes hand in hand with mindfulness. Only when you focus on the present and appreciate what you have now, rather than wanting more and more, you can find contentment and live a better life. Processing gratitude is really effective to fight anxiety, dissatisfaction and depression because it helps you see your situation in a way that can shift your perspective and open up your thinking to new solutions.
If you feel unhappy do not put the blame on your bad luck, your busy life, or your limited resources. Being more successful in any area of your life isn’t about wishful thinking. It’s about becoming accountable of your own blessings. Even if you have a lot of obstacles in front of you, and you feel that it’s difficult to see positive forces, you are still able to be grateful if you take the time to stop immersing yourself in the negativity surrounding you. Just focus on realising what you have in life. Life may be throwing you lots of different challenges every day, but you have to limit the amount of energy you are spending on negative thoughts and actions in response to those challenges. It’s important to understand that only if you approach your own life with a sense of gratitude, you will be able to be aware of the good things in your life. When you make a decision to notice your daily world from a point of positivity, you will be amazed at all the goodness you may be neglecting each day.
Feeling grateful is not dependent upon having achieved specific goals. If you want to recognise the gifts in your life, you first have to put your mindset in the present moment. Otherwise, many wonderful things will pass you by every day. You can make a gratitude journal and start to write down the things that well every day. My mindset changed for the better when I started a gratitude journal. It made me realise that happiness is not about how good or bad any person’s life is. It’s all about being aware of the gifts given to me every single day. Try to write three things you are thankful for each day, and focus on those things. In our everyday life, we can get very focused on what is going wrong, and that is not the way to live a satisfying life.
Seeing life in a grateful perspective is the greatest gift you can give to yourself. The more gratitude you express to the people around you, the more they will reflect it back to you. Being thankful and choosing to see things in a positive light, can improve your health, and have a wonderful effect in your relationships. Gratitude creates positive emotions like joy, love and contentment, that can undo the grip of negative emotions like anxiety and fear. Fostering gratitude can also broaden your thinking, and create positive cycles of positive energy.
If you want to bring a sense of purpose to your life, avoid being a negative and regretful person. Your quality of life is directly related to the way you react to bad things in life. Give yourself space and peace to relax, and think about everything that you have going on that you should be thankful for. Learn to be grateful for your past troubles, because every problem you had in the past made you come out stronger on the other side.
The more aware you become of how blessed you are, the more blessings you will attract to yourself. You have the power to protect yourself from negativity with gratitude. Use this power to make yourself happy, to view yourself worthy of success, and wonderful things will happen to you.
