Improve Your Life
Sometimes, it feels impossible to take control of our lives when we are stuck in a job we dislike, when we are not mentally or physically fit, or when we know that our friends or family will reject us if we choose a different life path. Sometimes, the more we struggle against life, the more stuck we become. We need not to let go of fear to push our boundaries and try new things. We need to move on and try to live the best life we can, because feeling sorry for ourselves won't get us anywhere.
It’s important to understand that true happiness rarely comes from outside circumstances. Wealth, beauty, power, or material possessions have far less to do with happiness and fulfilment than our appreciation for what we have and our relationships with the people we care about. I’d say that the first thing we need to do in order to improve our life is do our best to be more social, and surround ourselves with people who make us feel good. Let go of toxic people, then, start building self-awareness, and discover what you are willing to do to improve your circumstances, and what you don't want for your life. If you want to feel good about your decisions, you need to start saying no when something doesn't resonate, or align with who you really are. Simply refuse to go against your values just to be liked, or to go along with the crowd. Embrace your inner self by paying attention to your emotions. Remember that cultivating emotional balance is essencial to get in touch with your intuition, to achieve inner peace, and to make wise choices in life. Once you achieve inner peace, it will eventually lead to external peace.
Prioritise how you feel and take the time to know your own limits. Start checking in with yourself on a regular basis, despite your circumstances and outside influences. Recognise the things in your life that you are grateful for. Learn to listen to your body, and, from time to time, shift your focus from your everyday tasks and focus on your body, your thoughts and your emotions. Sometimes, we don’t take the time for ourselves, until we are presented with a final demand from our body. Take care of your body starting with the basics, making sure you drink water when you're thirsty, eat good food when you're hungry, and stop when your body says it's full. Prioritise your sleeping routine, and stop pushing yourself when you feel tired.
Dedicate some time to do things that you love with your heart, rather than only valuing material things. A positive atmosphere can bring many blessings into your life. Learn to recognise the little everyday blessings in your routine, and do not take them for granted. Meditate, or pray regularly. Your mind is powerful, and positive intentions can reinforce your beliefs, making them ultimately stronger.
Maintaining a positive attitude while learning from your mistakes is the formula for a peaceful and happy life. Living in denial about your mistakes or constantly listening to your ego, will bring negativity into your life and block you from receiving positive energy, and learning valuable lessons that will help you grow and improve. Try to be more adventurous, stay open minded and let go of any mental obstacles that stand in the way of your dreams. Let go of certain expectations of how your life should be, and go in the direction of your heart’s desires. When you take control of your life, you will be able to find your confidence, and believe in your ability without the need for outside validation.
Be very honest with yourself. If you make a mistake, take responsibility for your actions, but also learn not to worry about things that are beyond your control. Start asking for spiritual guidance and trusting the Higher Power to guide you to the right direction. Keep in mind that once you identify your core values and build your life around them, you will understand that that no matter who you are, and what has happened in your life, you are worthy of love and happiness.
