Inner Courage

It is easy to ignore or deny our fears, even to ourselves. When we work to develop courage, it’s important to know ourselves and have a deep understanding of our fears in life. Only by knowing and labelling our feelings we are able to take the first step toward gaining control over them. Most of us find it difficult to have a mental and emotional ability to deal with challenging, and sometimes seemingly impossible circumstances. That’s why courage is considered by many to be one of the most important human virtues. We can only be successful when we empower ourselves with the ability to confront problems.
As human beings, it’s completely normal to have fears. The most beautiful thing about courage, it’s that it comes from a place of being afraid, but acting anyway. I believe that being courageous is a habit, and when we learn to control the negative feelings and thoughts, we discover that we’re already much braver than we think we are. Our fears keep us from moving forward with what we want in our lives. We can change our future when we allow ourselves to figure out exactly what power our fear has over our mind and behaviour. Many of our fears are based in false beliefs or catastrophic thinking, that’s why is important to talk back to our negative thoughts or false beliefs, and question them. We all have negative thoughts, but we need to learn to dwell on them. These thoughts and attitudes are draining and if you give in to them, they will become stronger and undermine your confidence and courage.
Reinforcing your successes in your mind give less power to your fears. I’ve learned that mindfulness can have a very positive effect in our well being and our ability to be more courageous in life. If you find yourself overwhelmed by fear, meditation and mindfulness can help you to overcome negative thoughts. Just focus on your breathing and take deep breaths. When you feel the negative emotions, detach yourself from it by focusing on more positive thoughts.
You can experience peace in regular meditations, in order to find your inner courage. When you connect to the Higher Power, you can feel empowered to do anything you want to do. But, be prepared to step out of your comfort zone: doing something you don't normally do helps you cope with the unexpected, which is where fear often springs from. Facing your fears help you grow, and move towards the positive side in life, allowing you to be able to change your negative attitude.
Self knowledge helps us to label our emotions and develop self-understanding and emotional intelligence. Remember that running from your fears never improves the way you feel. Empower yourself with the feeling that you know without a doubt that you deserve to have everything you want, and you have no doubts that you are good enough or worthy enough. Fear holds us back and keep us stuck in a life of mediocrity. Dare to leave your comfort zone and take some risks in order to move forward. Remember that being positive about your future is possible when you learn to love yourself more and you are willing to take risks to achieve your personal and professional goals. Focusing on your positive traits and not comparing yourself to others is essential to build your confidence and courage.
Realise your true nature, learn to look at the difficult areas of your life with honesty, compassion and bravery. When you live out of fear you are always trembling inside, and you are continuously in a state of misery and worry. Start looking at the things you do from a good perspective, and re-evaluate the things in the past that had an impact on how you see things in the present. We need to trust ourselves in order to be courageous. Once we learn to trust our own abilities, it will lead to self confidence. Have faith, don’t lose hope for a better tomorrow, and ask for spiritual guidance. Trust that whatever happens in the future, you can find a way to deal with it. Surround yourself with positive people, because negative and discouraging comments from people around us can have long lasting effects if we let them affect us. With courage, we can face our problems and realise the areas in our lives that need healing. It helps us to deal and identify the source of our demons. Remember that you can build confidence in any aspect of your life. The secret of happiness is freedom, and the secret of freedom is courage.
