Self Esteem

All week on our blog and face book site we have been looking at self-esteem, why its important and why it’s so fragile too. Our self-esteem is so important, it controls how we feel about ourselves, how confident we are and affects our relationships. Our self-esteem is often affected by what we see in the mirror and how much we criticise what we see - men and women alike find fault with what they see and of course what we say to ourselves affects our self worth, self esteem and well-being.
So a really good place to start improving your self esteem is in loving how you look and a really good exercise for this is the Magic Mirror. Its takes time and effort but it works if you can keep it up.
Buy a mirror preferably a full length one, take care choosing it, make sure it is one you really like and one that fits in with your home. Then hang it and clean it.
This mirror can only ever show you the good in you; it can never show you anything you can criticise.
You cannot use this mirror to sees how you look or check your wrinkles or see if your bum looks good in this.
You should stand in front of the mirror once a day and let it take you to an area of your body, once there concentrate on it and find one good, beautiful or stunning thing you see - like your beautiful green eyes, your voluptuous hips or your strong arms. Really stare at this part of you and feel positive about it, then say out loud (makes it more of a fact if you speak it) how wonderful this part of you is.
Repeat every day until you feel brave enough to do this semi clothed or naked.
Little by little you will appreciate just how handsome and beautiful you are, it takes time and you may need to start with little things. But if you do this every day feeling of self worth will develop.
Remember that mirror can only be used for good reflections.
