Soul Mate

What is a soul mate relationship? I believe that soul mates are people that we’ve had a past life with and with whom we’ve made agreements to cross paths in this particular lifetime for some purpose. How do you recognise a soul mate relationship? They are usually someone that you feel a familiarity with or a connection. Perhaps you’ve just met someone and you feel like you already know them or wonder if you’ve met them before. Soul mates aren’t just life partners or romantic relationships. They can also be family members, friends, colleagues or acquaintances. They can be with us for the whole of our life or just for a short time and then each of us moves on. A soul mate is someone who is here to help us in some way – as we do them. It may present as a challenge; perhaps we wanted to help each other discover some aspect of love and part of that involved learning what love isn’t. Soul mate relationships generally encounter both challenges and rewards. It may appear that one person is “doing†something to the other and that one person is suffering in some way but it may help to see it that the relationship is actually giving both of you a gift. It’s helping both of you to grow in some way and serving some purpose. When our purpose together as soul mates has finished then we can usually release them and move on with our lives.
