Spirit

When I was a young child I always felt things differently than those around
me. I could always feel the pain of others and I wanted to help. The first
such experience I had was at an early age, around nine. I would go to the cemetery down the road and kick an old soccer ball around. I didn't have a
whole lot of friends, I was different. One day I met a boy, his name was
Thomas, he lived down the road and said he saw me playing and thought I
could use a buddy. I kicked that ball back and forth with Thomas for a
whole month, Thomas lived with his Dad, his Dad was kind of a jerk, my Step
Dad was kind of a jerk, we became friends.
One day I asked my Mom if Thomas could come stay the night, she said that would be fine but she had to meet his Dad. We rode down the road past the cemetery on to Thomas house, when we got closer I thought his house looked odd, I had never been there. When my Mom stopped in front of the house, it was a burned out shell. Thomas and his Dad had died in a house fire years before. I never saw Thomas again after that, even though I looked. I believe Thomas came to me because we had something in common, I think Thomas was *different* too. Thomas showed me something that I never forgot, he made me believe in myself even when others didn't.
It would be years before I picked up Tarot for the first time, it changed
my life. I have felt that the direction that I receive comes from the energy of my friend Thomas. Not Thomas himself, I believe he passed on to whatever awaits us on the other side, but his energy. Through meditation
and the study of Tarot we can tap into this energy and let it guide our
choices and decisions. We can get a new perspective on our problems and
seek guidance from those we lost. The energy you attract is the energy that
guides you.
