Meditation and Intuition

Meditation and Intuition

As a child, we freely accessed our intuition. As we grow up, we began to doubt your intuitive voice and shut down this channel of information. The good news is that with a little patience and practice we can strengthen our intuition to create a valuable guidance system. Each day, we need to clear our minds. Let all the distracting thoughts flow out of the mind. Let them go. Picture thoughts floating away on a cloud. Focus on the breathing and allow your mind and body to relax more with each breath. If you haven’t meditated in a while, try this simple 5 minute meditation where all you do is sit and become aware of your breath. You can use imagery to help you access intuitive answers to your questions. Imagine yourself in a quiet place in nature, surrounded by beauty and wonder. The more you practice, the easier it gets. To live by your Soul means to listen to your Intuition. Your intuition is the voice of your own inner teacher that guides you from darkness into Light. The ego’s voice is judgmental to the point of being abusive, telling you things about yourself to make you believe that you are a bad person and not to be trusted. This will make you treat yourself in disrespectful and unloving ways. Intuition is neutral in energy, and these messages makes you treat yourself in loving and respectful ways. Intuition is connected to higher knowledge that comes to the spirit without logic or reason, which is why it is sometimes referred to as a “gut feeling.” Meditation can clear your mind of its clutter, it is nothing more than focused thought or focused non-thought. It’s the practice of directing your awareness. Before making a decision, try to meditate. Our mind becomes stiller, quieter, and our intuition appears to be louder and clearer because we have removed the excess noise that was interfering with our ability to perceive our intuition, our soul guidance, that appears naturally during those instants when our mind is calm. Your Intuition is that second sense, that unique way of knowing something before you’ve been told. Paying attention to those feelings, and acting on them, is not foolish, it's actually an extremely effective way to harness your inner wisdom and lead yourself toward what you want in life.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness

Forgiveness is one of the most vital spiritual tools you will ever use. Spirituality and forgiveness have been shown to be associated with psychological well-being, so one of the most beneficial things you can do for your emotional well-being is to forgive. Because holding on to resentment towards someone depletes your energy, delays spiritual progression and growth, and makes your life more stressful. Often times after we have been emotionally, physically or spiritually hurt, the pain quickly turns to anger and resentment. Resentment is a negative energy that will attract us to negative situations, even in our casual relationships. Self forgiveness is also very important. Once we use self forgiveness, our inner door to love opens. We are now able to feel the Universal love and well being that has been waiting beyond the door that we had kept closed within ourselves for so long. We tend to form ideas about ourselves from the way that other people respond to us. This is true whether their response actually had anything to do with us or not. We can’t give what we don’t have. If we withhold love from others, it is because we are withholding it from ourselves. If we are withholding it from ourselves, it is because we haven’t fully forgiven ourselves yet. This step is absolutely essential before we can truly forgive and love anyone else. Forgiving certainly is work, it is an inner growth journey that takes effort to achieve. But you are not facing it alone, keep in mind: Nobody is perfect. It is also important to consider that whatever happened in our lives may be something we chose, on a karmic, spiritual level, to experience. Taking responsibility for our part of what happened to us will make us stronger and possibly even protect us from further harm. Forgiveness does not mean we agree with what happened, or that it doesn't matter to us. It doesn't mean we condone it or that it would be fine with us if it would happen again. Forgiveness means we are no longer tormented by the event. Forgiveness is a spiritual choice, not an emotional feeling; When we choose to forgive, let it go, and move on, our spiritual energy will change to a positive energy and lead us to a happier life.

When We Do Not Get Enough Sleep

When We Do Not Get Enough Sleep

We all know what happens when we do not get enough sleep, we get cranky and forgetful and simply do not function well. After one night without sleep, concentration becomes more difficult and our attention span shortens noticeably .With continued lack of sleep, the part of our brain that controls language, memory, planning and sense of time is so badly affected, it almost shuts down, sustained lack of sleep has the same effect as drinking two glasses of wine. When we go without sleep we cannot respond to change effectively and our ability to make judgement about dangerous situations is almost lost. It only takes three days without sleep before we start to hallucinate and eventually it is fatal not to sleep. On top of this are the physical effects of not having sleep, stress and high blood pressure, links to obesity and appetite disturbances to mention a few. So it’s key to have a good night’s sleep to be able to function at all. How much sleep we need depends on our age and lifestyle and we need to know where we lie on the sleep spectrum and what our lifestyle is doing to us. (Work, stress etc) Are we productive, healthy and happy on six hours of sleep? Or do we need nine hours to get going every day? Is our weight affecting the amount of sleep we need or do we have conditions and diseases that make us sleep more or less? Does caffeine help us stay awake and are we at risk of falling asleep when we drive? All of these will affect the amount of sleep we need but most adults require 7-9 hours per night of quality sleep. If we have sleep difficulties the answers can often be found in our daily routine. Our sleep schedule, bedtime habits, and day-to-day lifestyle all affect the quality of our sleep. These tips can help improve our sleep and therefore how we perform at all things in our lives. Set a regular bedtime. Go to bed at the same time every night. Choose a time when you normally tired, do not to break this routine on weekends when it’s tempting to go to bed later because you can have a lie in. Wake up at the same time every day. If you’re getting enough sleep, you will wake up naturally without an alarm. If you need an alarm clock you may need to go to bed earlier. No matter how tempting it is get up at the same time on the weekend too. Let the light in to your bedroom in the morning this allows your circadian rhythms to wake you up naturally. Get as much daylight into your life and work as possible it allows you to feel awake and know when it’s time to sleep. On the other hand keep your bedroom dark at nigh minimising displays from alarms etc. Keep the TV, Phone and PC out of the bedroom, they will over stimulate you and make it difficult to drop off at night. Have dimmer bulbs in your bedroom and if you need the loo in the night try using a torch to go so you can doze off quicker when you get back in bed. Try to keep your bedroom as quiet as possible and use white noise if this is impossible. Ensure your bed is comfy, check out your pillows and mattress is it time to change them as when they age you simply do not get the support you need for a good night’s sleep. Avoid food and alcohol before going to bed for at least two hours, cut down on liquids, caffeine and nicotine as they all affect our ability to sleep. Watch what you are thinking about as you try to sleep, it’s not a good time to start being creative, analytic or concerned. Goodnight and sweet dreams

The Differance Between Intuition And Fear

The Differance Between Intuition And Fear

When we are in a moment in life where a decision is needed, we are usually overwhelmed by our emotions and it is difficult to know if our fear is holding us back. The fear that sometimes we experience in life can help us to take care of ourselves, and make us reflect before our actions. But sometimes it’s also scary and loud. When we face this situation we need to understand the difference between fear and intuition. Sometimes we found ourselves in a situation where we need to make a decision but resisted because we feel apprehensive … we worry about upsetting others, we dread other people opinions, feel anxious about the unknown, or the outcome of a situation. It’s important to recognise that insecurity and anxiety is usually present before a change in life, when we are embarking on growth or change, it is not unusual for us to find a massive force holding us back. and the misery created by worry is the reason that sometimes a situation gets worse before it gets better. A change can bring lots of frustration especially when we do not know if the worry inside us is fear or intuition. Fear is guided by anxiety and it feels tight, constrictive and nauseating. It is a bad energy. As for our intuition, it is a guidance of our soul and it gets our attention in a soft, gentle way. It is not loud and it usually whisper. It always guide us and is not overwhelming. Our intuition comes as a protection voice alerting us to be careful about a situation when it wants to warn us, it is not scary, and it makes us feel safe and peaceful in any circumstance. Our intuition guidance show us the best path and help us avoid danger, and trust our judgment. The important thing to remember is that our inner voice is safe, and has a compassionate, affirming tone. If the feeling we have represents frustration and worry, it is a fear reflecting past emotional bruises, Fear is cruel, it is highly emotionally charged. Worry is the fear we grow inside us, and to be balanced in life we need to separate unhealthy fears from intuition. Blessings, Beverley

Get Happy - Its Good For You!

Get Happy - Its Good For You!

We have been looking at happiness on our Facebook, Twitter and Blog this week , but its not just a great feeling its good for you. Isn't it great when you feel happiness, everything is brighter and better and your energy soars, joy is the purest form of energy and brings angels and spirit to our side? But it also is so good for us on many levels. Happiness makes us want to be with more people to be sociable, to seek more people to share our happiness with. All our walls and defences against people are reduced when we are happy; we are open and even happy to be vulnerable. We are also much more empathetic to people and happy to help, being happy makes us care more about others. Sounds obvious happy people are just more positive, the same amount of good, bad and indifferent life events will happen to us all but happy people dwell on the good times so much more than those of us who are sad. However happy people do tend to have rose coloured spectacles, our memories are not as accurate, but in this case that could be a good thing. Happy people are not sceptics or cynics, faced with life's ups and downs we believe it won't be long until the issues are resolved and life will be back in a good place - we are just optimistic! When we are happy we are so much more creative too, we have a real ability to plan strategically but when it comes to critical thinking we are not so good as to be critical goes against our positivity - we do not like looking for fault. Happy people learn quicker and more effectively, we all know laughter makes kids pay attention and attention is the key to learning. But the happy hormones in your brain also make learning easier as it stimulates your brain more. Happy people have better health habits. We have lower blood pressure; our immune system works better, science has proved that positive emotions mean longer life expectancy and a great pain tolerance. Happiness helps us to fight addictions or not become addicted to anything at all as we don't need a sedative or prop to help with our emotions. A few easy ways to get happier are - Don’t deny or hide your emotions let them out , once you do you can return to being truly happy a whole lot quicker Live in the now as much as possible, try not to live in the past or dwell on the future Laugh a lot and find more things to laugh at Find happy people to spend time with - its catching you know Have your values, boundaries and limitations in place and do not let others cross them Meditate and be still at some point everyday So lets get happy and feel all round great Love & light Beverley

Dealing With Stress

Dealing With Stress

Mindfulness has become popular as a way of dealing with stress and anxiety in the last few years but what is it? Mindfulness is a psychological concept of focusing attention and awareness in the now, based on the concept of mindfulness in Buddhist meditation but mindfulness is mostly taught independently of religion. It has two parts - The first part is the self-regulation of attention so that it is maintained on immediate experience, increasing concentration on mental events in the present (being in the now). This brings a conscious awareness of your thoughts, feelings, and surroundings, which can result in a great improvement in concentration. The second section involves adopting a particular attitude to the present including, being inquisitive, open, and accepting. This leads to accepting how your mind works, maintaining an open mind, and creating alternative thinking strategies So it is a bit different from meditation and has a more specific goal than just relaxation. Although it is best to take a course or join a class to be develop mindfulness here are a few exercises to get you started. Pay more attention to your daily routine and tasks, be aware of what you are doing and complete things consciously, really be aware of the smell, feel and sound associated with what you are doing - e.g driving and you may learn to appreciate the task more Wake up and spend some time simply 'being in the moment' just sit and take in your surroundings with all senses. The start of your day you will eventually find your nervous system will get used to this and encourage more mindful sessions. Keep your mindful sessions short and sweet as the brain prefers to work in quick short bursts. A few short bursts are better than a long session, next time you are queuing for something pick something to concentrate on and then tune into yourself for a few minutes. Try some simple meditation as a way to learn to focus your concentration on yourself, practicing both will improve your focus and help with mindfulness.

Crystals

Crystals

There are so many crystals available but how do we use them and what do they do? They have been used for thousands of years, the Greeks, the Chinese and Native Americans have been using them as cures throughout history. Even in the Middles Ages in London they were donated to the church as cures for certain aliments. Crystals are formed underground from minerals and appear to be three dimensional patterns repeating throughout the stone. Their shape, size and format depend on where they grew but they are usually thousands of years old. The repeating pattern holds energy and emits a certain frequency of that energy; the energy held can be good or bad so it is essential that you purify your crystals before you use them. You need to cleanse any crystal you buy or are given to ensure it is attuned to your energy - you can submerge them in salt water (sea water is excellent) for a couple of days, then run them under the tap to clean off the salt. Or bury crystals in the garden for a few days, leaving them for a while in a stream or leaving them outside overnight in normal water to bask in the moonlight. Once you have these crystals set up you must treat them with care, wrap them up individually to transport them and keep them cleansed. Let them take in the energy of the full moon and at least once a week let them feel the warmth of daylight from dawn to dusk. So how do you use them? Simple really - have a crystal to carry around with you to work as a physical anchor to your intended desire. Crystals can help you in many ways. They can assist in the nurturing of creativity, healing the subtle energies of your body, mind and spirit, reprogramming of your thought patterns and the healing of both physical and emotional imbalances. You can use them to heal yourself and others, balance your chakras or simply bring love and peace to a room. There are some great websites and practioners out there who can help you get started. Here are some common crystals and what they can help with – Amethyst is good for addictions, anxiety, all emotional issues, insomnia, headaches, eye strain and headaches. It also if placed on the body can relieve gall bladder and liver issues while regulating blood sugar. It is one of the strongest healing crystals you can use. Citrine cures energy blockages, improves memory and helps with food allergies. It can be used to clear all the chakras and works well with depression. Emerald is the most powerful crystal for physical healing; it opens the heart chakra, works with stress and depression, heals ulcers, works with most internal organs and the eyes and can be used to develop psychic abilities. Lapis lazuli opens the third eye chakra to increase the intuition and clairvoyance; it also works well with the throat chakra to enhance honesty and communication. It reduces insomnia, headaches and issues with the eyes and is a powerful protective stone. Quartz comes in many colours all of which are effective for healing, white/clear quartz will open the third eye chakra and can be placed directly on areas of the body to bring pain relief, blue will clear the throat chakra easing throat pain and improves the immune system, rose quartz eases pain and speeds up healing, promotes love, and helps to being forgiveness, it warms the heart and keeps away nightmares.

What Does Your Favorite Colour Show?

What Does Your Favorite Colour Show?

Do you remember when everything was painted institutional green, hospitals schools etc? Do you ever wonder why that changed? Some philosophers, scientists and medical experts have discovered that the constituents of visible white light, broken into its radiant colours, are needed to bring about the balances in nature. The colours of the rainbow, the rays the angels use and the colours of our chakras are all essential to our well-being. In fact they can even heal us. Colour as shown by nature is needed to restore balance and peace to our lives - let’s face it nature is not all one colour is it? Light and colour are vibrating energies, each colour having its own wavelength and frequency. The colours we see I around us are caused by the light waves being absorbed or reflected off the object. Without light, there is no colour. Each colour has its own complementary or contrasting colour. A complementary colour is the opposing colour on the colour wheel. A good paint shop can let you have a colour wheel. Using the opposing colour in the wheel can help you feel better and different colours mean different things. Warm colours bring things closer and are happy colours to you while cool ones push them away and are calming colour. So your favourite colour shows something about your personality - Red is an energy colour, vibrant and full of life, a go getting colour, a stimulating colour, a focused colour. People who chose this colour are driven, ambitious people, impulsive, sexy and need to win. This colour brings them a lust for life and great leadership skills but watch out for impatience. Orange is the colour of joy and happiness; it’s a bright colour, a colour full of light and warmth. People who choose this colour are full of joy and bring that warmth everywhere with them, they are ambitious and always wide awake! People who pick this colour can give too much and wonder where they fit into life. Yellow is the sun, the colour of our life-force, a vivid and vital colour. People who chose this colour are inevitably cheerful, curious flexible and great communicators who never stop learning. But watch out for cynicism, anxiety and control when people who chose this colour come up against adversity. Green is the colour of nature and harmony, it is a balanced and soothing colour, it is the colour of healing and peace. When this colour is chosen people will be balanced and tranquil, open hearted, kind and always looking for the truth in their life. These people can be riddled with self doubt and easily knocked out of balance by life, watch out for their need for space. Blue is the cool colour, the colour of electricity, the sky and even antiseptics. This colour is chosen by people who calm, full of logic, faithful, loyal and have a need to be rational and logical in their life. Watch out for distance and aloofness, unpredictable mood changes and even isolation. Violet is the colour of spiritual protection, meditation, contemplation, mysticism and spirituality. People who chose this colour are soft and sensitive often psychic, dignified, imaginative, inventive and helpers of all kinds. They can become ungrounded as they spend too much time in other worldly pursuits, they get stuck and unable to take action, and if that happens they become depressed. When this colour is chosen you will find someone who is innocent and pure of mind, full of compassion to forgive others and themselves, open hearted and able to reflect others back to themselves (empathy). Beware of the unspoken anger these folks may have and their lack of boundaries. Have a colourful week

Past Lives

Past Lives

Our past lives are still in our memories but our brain locks them away from us as it would probably be too much for us to cope with in our present lives. We do draw upon them, when we make comparisons with a sense of knowing. Our past lives are influencing us all the time, why do we hate spiders, why have I took an instant dislike to the new guy at work? These may all be linked with our past lives. When you get those déjà- vue moments instead of just brushing it off really try to get in touch with what you remember. What is familiar about this place, person or situation? Can you find an era in time that resonates with you? Is there a feeling like fear, anger, calm or sadness that you associate with this? Do a little research about where you are or who you are with, did something happen in that place or to that person that brings back strange unfocused memories. Of meditation is also a great way to find out about your past lives. You need to be relaxed, and clear your mind of any thought. Once all the distractions of the world are gone you will often be able to see clearly into your past life. This may be a vision, an image. a brief flash but you have no control over it. You will see small glimpses but this will get bigger with practice and your brain will only allow you to see what it thinks you can cope with. If your dreams are crystal clear and you have no idea you were dreaming you maybe remembering a past life. This is especially if your dreams are historical or packed with feelings that are not relevant to the contents of the dream. It’s time to keep a dream journal and see the patterns that occur, the eras and the people who are in your dreams. You have a soul mate, this does not need to be a partner but someone you know inside out, who the moment you met them you felt like you had know them forever. Someone whose path you have crossed many times in this life, but you 'just missed' them. This could have been your parent or lover or child in a previous life but that knowing them immediately feeling often shows you have been close in a previous life. Find a specialist regression hypnotherapist and work with them to find out all about your past lives, see what memories come to the surface and the people that appear in your lives. Again afterwards do some research into what happened in the point in time and the places you found yourself in.

Learning from our experiences with the 9 of wands.

Learning from our experiences with the 9 of wands.

We need to give a sense of accomplishment and purpose every day in our life. It is very important to have the ability to face setbacks, failures, crises, with confidence and courage. The Nine of Wands suggests that we are so close to completing a particular project or task but at the last minute, we are faced with yet another challenge or setback. When I see this card, I believe it is important to set goals to help us look toward the future with meaning. When we want to learn from experience, we need to take personal responsibility for our actions and we need to know that we have the inner power to overcome adversities. We all coped with hardships in the past. What we need to consider are the skills and strategies that helped us through rough times. When the 9 the wands appears, is a good idea to write about past experiences in a journal to help us to identify positive and negative behaviour pattern and take time for ourselves to reflect on our actions, and choices. It is vital to keep in mind that challenges usually appears before we can reach ultimate success. We can not change the past, but we can always look toward the future. Accepting and even anticipating changes makes it easier for us to adapt and view new challenges with less anxiety. We must allow ourselves to experience our feelings and remind ourselves of our strengths and accomplishments.
