Egyptian culture. Not very popular but important goddess Hatmehyt corresponds mysterious Pisces. Her name means “the one who walks before the fish” meaning her originality and relation to the first gods ever. She belongs to the Delta city Mendes and was the lady of rivers, waters, floods and all other things connected to water. She was worshipped as the lady of life and protection providing population with fish, healthy and useful food. Actually it was Hatmehyt who appeared one of the first deities out of primordial waters of endless Nun. That’s why she cannot boast with many stories and adventures but remained hidden and safely guarded the secrets of creation.
Ancient Greece. In Greece Pisces is linked to famous goddess of love Aphrodite. Two dolphins were considered her companions and even rescuers. There is a legend about threatening Typhon, a monster terrorizing gods and goddesses who once decided to attack Aphrodite who was walking along the seashore with her son Eros. However as it is always happens with Pisces, there are so many options of the development of the adventure that it is impossible to tell exactly and imagination is the only truth. According to one version the goddess quickly turned herself and her son into fishes and successfully escaped. According to other two dolphins were sent to rescue them and to honor their noble deed they were put on the sky as a constellation. In any case fish is most often linked to Aphrodite birth. It is told that a huge egg fell into the Euphrates river and it was fish-like creatures who brought it to the shore where the birth took place. It quite differs from traditional stories but still deserves attention. At least the role of the fish is clear – to help and safe.
Tarot Arcana. In Tarot mystical eighteenth Arcana The Moon became the correspondent to the last sign of Zodiac. Full of animals this card bears a strong energy of nature. The cancer or crab appearing from the lake tells about lots of hidden and mysterious surprises which our unconscious may bring to us. Introspection for Pisces is not escape or regression but a powerful method of analyzing and receiving practical information. It is all psychological and esoteric activities aimed at finding the answers, revealing the reasons and feeling the next step. The night itself together with the bright moon indicates a huge power of the full moon period. The moon is with the face taking the mind back to the time of Selena, Artemis who once were alive deities with their own characters, who could bless with mystical gifts. Dog and a wolf who represent a civilized and wild nature calls us to respect and honour the connection to Nature maybe even through finding your own spiritual guardian in animal world.
Remain secretive and nurturing as Hatmehyt, be swift and witted as fish to escape destructive and aggressive environment and always follow the noble desire to help and rescue those in need. Explore unknown, wander in fascinating world of feelings and emotions and dedicate some part of your soul to the Moon…I hope my short suggestion will help you to invent your own way of opening the potential energy of your signs.
